SUMMARY:A Stitch in Time
DESCRIPTION:Campers will meet virtually every day from 9:00 am-12:00 pm. Campers will receive a packet of all supplies and a t-shirt and have multiple opportunities to interact with the camp teacher as a group and individually for guidance on projects. The week will culminate with an online quilt show. \nIn this camp\, we will explore different types of homes from pioneer days. Come find out who built these homes\, what they were made of\, where they were built\, what they did inside the houses\, and why they did things that way! SUMMARY:Behind the Mask 1 & 2
DESCRIPTION:Behind the Mask 1 & 2 will be combined and held June 8-12. The camp will be held virtually starting at 9:00 am with a daily interactive meeting\, pre-recorded instructions on the day’s project\, online references\, and time to check in with the teacher. All supplies and a t-shirt will be distributed prior to camp. There will be an online art show at the end of the week. \nWho in the world wears masks? Campers will explore cultures that make masks and the ceremonies of those cultures. Native American traditions and the influence of the African culture on today’s American celebrations\, such as Mardi Gras in New Orleans\, will provide ideas for mask making projects. Campers will make masks from a variety of cultures from various materials.\nAge 6 to 12 (or completed grade K-6) \nRegister online at the link.

DESCRIPTION:Celebrate our state’s birthday with this free Kansas Day event.\n• Presentation\, Lecture Name\, by Lecturer at the Luyken Fine Arts Center at Bethel College\, 11 am\n• Food trucks in the Kauffman Museum parking lot from 11:30 am to 4:30 pm\n• Free Kansas Day activities at the museum\, from 1 pm to 4 pm\, including indoor crafts games for the kiddos\, Kansas-themed talks in the auditorium\, and outdoor activities and displays\, old-fashioned schoolyard games\, wagon rides\, pedal-tractor racecourse\, Native American teepee\, and more!\n• Bake sale and a silent auction of antiques\n• Tour the restored farmhouse and view the museum exhibits. \nAdmission for this event is free and the Kansas Day celebration at Kauffman Museum is open to everyone.
